Bobby Lynn "Bob" Stansberry, 77, of Lexington, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at the VA Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Bob was born June 28, 1941 to the late Malcolm and Alice Maynard Stansberry in Louisa, KY.
Bob served 2 years in the Kentucky National Guard, 4 years in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic. He was a Vietnam Veteran, member of the American Legion, 56 year member of Apperson Masonic Lodge No. 195, Louisa, KY. He was one of the first volunteers that help start the Cannonsburg Fire Department. He was employed with Ashland Oil and retired from Huntington Alloys of Burnaugh, KY after 16 years. Bob was also a Kentucky Colonel, volunteer at VA Hospital for 10 years, volunteer for God's Pantry and a member of St. Luke Methodist Church.
He had a gentle loving spirit, liked to do puzzles, attend Car shows, visit Air Craft museums and caves.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years Julia Francis Stansberry, one sister; Gail Taylor, Lancaster, KY, several nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Graveside service will be conducted Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY, with Dr. Lowell Langefeld officiating.
