Benita Lynne (Haywood) VanHoose

          Benita Lynne Haywood VanHoose, age 57, passed away on November 10, 2017, following an extensive illness. Lynne was born on March 28, 1960 to Billy H. and Phyllis Sue (Cornette) Haywood. Lynne was a 1985 graduate of the University of Kentucky, College of Mining Engineering. She worked for the Kentucky Office of Surface Mining for several years prior to her illness.

          Lynne will always be remembered by her beauty, intelligence, love of art, sewing, and especially her love for her family.

          Lynne is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, Marvin Michael VanHoose, her parental grandparents, Ballard and Hazel Haywood, and maternal grandparents, Otto and Gladys Cornette.

          Lynne is survived by her brother, William Gregory Haywood, sister, Renita Haywood Dingus (Tommy), nieces, Kathryn Darby Cooksey and Morgan Shae Haywood, and nephews, Mason Gregory Haywood and John Wesley Cooksey.

          A service to celebrate Lynne’s life will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Hall Brother’s Funeral Home in Martin, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 12:00, followed by a memorial service at 2:00. Friends and family are welcome to attend. A private, family burial will follow.
