Alma Kay (Hicks) Sammons

       Alma Kay Hicks Sammons, age 58, of Coaling, AL, formerly of Garrett, KY, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in University of Alabama Medical West Hospital, Birmingham, AL after a brief illness. She was born May 16, 1960 in Martin, KY a daughter of the late Mary Magalene Buehrer and her grandparents Ben and Susie Smith.

      She is survived by three sons, Nathan Corey Hicks, Coaling, AL, Kyle Ethan Hicks, Langley, KY, Brian Gregory Hicks, Ft. Leonardwood, MO, and two sisters; Patricia Francis, Garrett, KY and Mary Elizabeth Setser, Prestonsburg, KY.

     In addition to her mother and grandparents she was preceded in death by her step-father, John Buehrer, one brother; Earl Napier, and one sister; Rita Jo Slone.

     Funeral service for Alma Kay Hicks Sammons will be conducted Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Kevin Jett officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Stone Coal-Garrett, KY, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
